WORK ON NEW SKATE PARK TO COMMENCE

Construction on a new skate park for Penzance is set to start in less than two weeks, after an 18-month wait.

Construction of Wherrytown Skate Plaza will start on Monday, April 8, after contacts were signed this week. Fencing has already been set up around the site opposite the Co-op at Wherrytown, Penzance.

Kerbs Skateboard Association, in partnership with Penzance Town Council, was awarded £50,000 funding from Sport England, bringing the total funding raised to £141,000.

A spokesperson for Kerbs said: “This funding will be enough to bring a world class facility for the town.”
